Know a rising 5th – 8th grader interested in gardening, cooking, garden-inspired art projects, field trips to local farms or selling fresh produce at the City Market? They may enjoy a week at Buford’s Summer Garden Camp! Kids will participate in age-appropriate garden activities (planting, harvesting & maintenance chores) while field trips, guest speakers and instructors will develop children’s curiosity about food and farming beyond the garden at Buford. Lunch each day will be prepared by campers and staff from ingredients harvested fresh from the garden. On Saturday, campers will meet at the City Market to assist in selling flowers, seeds and vegetables from the garden.
DATES: July 25th – 30th – Rising 5th & 6th graders; August 1st – 6th – Rising 7th & 8th graders
TIME: 8:30am – 1pm Monday through Friday (lunch included); 7:30am – noon for Saturday City Market booth
FEE: $175 for 5 camp sessions + 1 farmer’s market stand (Monday – Saturday). Limited sliding scale scholarships are available.
